1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They help sites function, remember preferences and — with your consent — understand how visitors use pages. Similar technologies include local storage (used on this site to remember cookie consent) and pixel tags that may be deployed if you accept analytics or advertising categories in future configurations.

EduDrive is committed to transparency about tracking. We minimize non-essential cookies and honour the choice you make in our cookie banner.

2. How we use cookies on edudrive.pro

We group cookies into three categories:

2.1 Strictly necessary (essential)

These cookies are required for basic website operation. They cannot be switched off through our banner because the site would not function correctly without them. They do not store personally identifiable information beyond short-lived technical identifiers.

• Session integrity — maintains form security and basic navigation state during a visit;
• Cookie consent record — stores your Accept / Reject / Customise choice in browser local storage under the key edudrive_consent so the banner does not reappear on every page load.

Legal basis: legitimate interest in operating a secure, functional website. Duration: session cookies expire when you close the browser; consent records persist for six months from the date of your choice, after which the banner will appear again so you can review preferences.

2.2 Analytics (optional)

Analytics cookies help us understand aggregated traffic — pages viewed, approximate referral source, device type — so we can improve content for education professionals visiting from across Canada. Analytics run only if you click "Accept all" in the cookie banner. If you click "Reject all", analytics tags remain disabled.

Potential vendors (deployed only with consent):

• Plausible Analytics — privacy-oriented, aggregated pageview statistics without cross-site tracking profiles;
• Google Analytics 4 — if enabled, configured with IP anonymization and without advertising features unless separately disclosed.

Typical retention: fourteen to twenty-six months for aggregated analytics data at the vendor, per vendor defaults. We do not use analytics data to profile individual learners — our site audience is institutional decision-makers, not students.

2.3 Advertising / remarketing (optional — currently inactive)

We do not currently run advertising or remarketing pixels on edudrive.pro. If this changes, we will update this policy and request consent before activating tags such as Google Ads conversion pixels or LinkedIn Insight Tag. You would be able to refuse advertising cookies without affecting essential site function.

3. Managing your choices

When you first visit edudrive.pro, a banner offers three options:

• Accept all — enables essential cookies plus optional analytics;
• Reject all — enables essential cookies only; analytics disabled;
• Customise — brings you to this page for detail before choosing.

Your selection is stored locally for six months. To change your mind sooner, clear site data for edudrive.pro in your browser settings or delete local storage key edudrive_consent — the banner will reappear on your next visit.

You may also configure your browser to block all cookies. Note that blocking essential cookies may affect form behaviour. Browser help pages: Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Edge all provide cookie management under privacy settings.

For analytics opt-out tools where GA4 is active: Google provides a browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

4. Third-party content

Our site loads fonts from Google Fonts (Epilogue, Inter, IBM Plex Mono). Google may log font requests including IP address. We use display-swap loading to reduce performance impact. If you prefer to block font CDN requests, local fallbacks in our CSS will apply system fonts.

Embedded content (for example, maps or videos) is not presently used on edudrive.pro. If added, this policy will list associated cookies before deployment.

5. Personal information and PIPEDA

Cookie data may constitute personal information under PIPEDA when linked to identifiable individuals (for example, IP addresses in server logs). Our Privacy Policy describes how we handle such information, retention limits and your access rights. Contact our Privacy Officer at [email protected] with cookie-related privacy questions.

6. Do Not Track

Some browsers send "Do Not Track" signals. There is no uniform Canadian legal standard requiring response. We treat an explicit "Reject all" cookie choice as the authoritative expression of your preference on this site.

7. Updates

We may update this Cookie Policy when we add tools, change vendors or respond to regulatory guidance. The "Last updated" date will change accordingly. Material updates may reset the consent timer so returning visitors can make a fresh choice.
